Sad day...

I am a volunteer for the French Bulldog Rescue Network... I love my role in the organization - I am an intake coordinator which means I organize a surrendered dog's route from where (s)he is being surrendered to the ultimate foster home.  This often involves talking to the surrendering owner, setting up a meeting location, coordinating a volunteer to do the surrender - while occasionally doing a surrender myself, working out a transport plan to get from Point A to Point B and finding an appropriate foster home.

During long transports, an overnight stay is often required for the dog with a volunteer in his or her home.  On Halloween 2010, I was lucky enough to have Mr. Tiny Tim stay with me for the evening.  TT had a long day and we were working on getting him to his foster home in Canada {my first border crossing with a dog that wasn't mine}.  TT was an absolute gentleman while staying at my house - very reserved.  We crossed the border the next day where I met Gary {one of my all time favorite FBRN volunteers}...

TT and me in Windsor {beautiful shot of Detroit in the background}

Gary shared TT's progress over the next several months with love and lots of photos.  I was amazed at the progress that TT was making - he began to love other dogs, people and playing with toys!  Leaps and bounds for the reserved little frog dog that I had met.

Wednesday morning I woke up to an email stating that TT had unexpectedly passed away.  It was officially a *sad* day.

What I'm reading...

kindle edition, of course :)

A cute mystery about a painting that is stolen during a pug event at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  Two of my favorite topics ==> pugs and NYC... how can you go wrong?

Donation to Margaret's Hope Chest

I took a quilting class over a year ago {Turning Twenty Again @ the Ann Arbor Sewing Center} and had all of these blocks just sitting in a bin.  Margaret's Hope Chest was requesting quilt tops... so I took the opportunity to turn the blocks into a quilt top.  While I don't necessarily *love* the final product, I do think it has potential to make a little girl happy :)

Two Months Later...

the Dr. Seuss Quilt is FINALLY completed.  Clearly, it did not become a baby shower gift.  The baby has arrived - a cute little girl named Olivia.  I cannot wait to drop this in the mail to her and her parents.
The front...

A close up of the quiliting (Rhonda Loy) and the cute little orange Lorax... adorable.

The back - I love this fabric and the rainbow stripe binding {swoon}

My Quilting companion... a french bulldog named FiFi... she was incredibly bored with the slow pace of my binding skills so she settled in for a little nap.  FiFi is a foster dog with the French Bulldog Rescue Network.  She is staying with me for about a week.  What a great dog :)
